The legal division, in cooperation with the Continuing Education Unit, organized an educational workshop on combating religious extremism entitled ( How to enhance awareness and counter extremist and extremist ideas ) in order to counter religious extremism and intellectual and blasphemous terrorism.
The workshop, delivered by Assistant Teacher Elaf Abdul Rasul Sabri and Legal Adviser Sheikh Abdul Zahra zagir Khalaf, included several topics, most notably the concept of religious extremism, the reasons for its spread, and a statement of the most prominent Iraqi and international legislation that referred to the crime of extremism in all its forms .
The workshop, which was attended by a number of members of the Institute, concluded by recommending the need to indicate preventive and therapeutic methods to protect society from extremism and to address it, noting that some acts constitute a crime of religious extremism that should not be promoted by any means.
